Private Tours in Maine

Most tours in Maine run on someone else’s clock: a motor coach full of strangers, twenty rushed minutes at each stop, a guide on autopilot. We do the opposite. Our private tours in Maine hand the day back to you, your group, your pace, your own list of stops, and a chauffeur who could drive these roads blindfolded.

Maybe you landed with no plan, or the postcards sold you, and now you want the real thing. If it is your first time here, that is exactly who we are here for. No white-knuckling an unfamiliar two-lane, no map open on your knee, no lighthouse cut short because a schedule says so. You watch the water; we take care of the road. We carry the logistics so the day stays about the view.

Skip a Stop, Add a Lunch, Change Your Mind

The whole point of our Maine sightseeing tour is simple: you decide what the day includes, and nothing locks you in. Linger an hour at a clifftop light while the fog lifts off Casco Bay, then skip the next stop because the harbor caught your eye and trade it for a long lunch at a lobster shack you spotted from the vehicle. We build the route around what you want to see, rework it on the fly when plans change, and quietly manage the parking, the timing, and the wrong turns a newcomer never sees coming.

City days have their own rhythm. A morning wandering Portland’s Old Port, cobblestone lanes and a working waterfront where the lobster boats still unload, can roll into an afternoon down the peninsula without you ever switching tours. Cruise-ship days can change traffic and pickup conditions around Portland’s waterfront, so we build extra time into Old Port stops when ships are in port. You can browse a gallery, duck into a shop, or grab something fresh off the dock.

None of it runs to a fixed template, either. A relaxed half-day might string together the lighthouses south of Portland; a fuller schedule can reach Kennebunkport and back with a lobster lunch in the middle and still leave time for the harbor at golden hour. You give us the rough shape, and we fit the hours to it, not the other way around.

From Portland Head Light to Camden Harbor

The state keeps its best sights spread along a coastline that runs thousands of miles once you count every cove, so a good outing is really about stringing the right few together. A handful we return to again and again:

  • For many people it comes down to a single photo, and that photo is usually Portland Head Light, the state’s oldest, lit in 1791 on the cliffs of Fort Williams Park. On summer weekends, we usually schedule it earlier in the morning, before the park becomes busier around midday.
  • Just twenty minutes from downtown sit five more lighthouses, Bug Light and Spring Point Ledge among them, so a single morning can take in a whole run of them without a long haul between.
  • Head south and Kennebunkport rewards a slow afternoon, Dock Square for the galleries and Ocean Avenue past Walker’s Point, where the Bush family compound looks out over the rocks.
  • Nearer Portland, Freeport is made for browsing, anchored by the L.L. Bean flagship that famously never locks its doors, with outlets and green space all around.
  • Up the coast, Camden hands you a working harbor ringed by hills, windjammers at the docks, and one of the prettier main streets in New England to wander before dinner.

Days that run past the shore stay on one booking, inland or up the water alike. Some visitors plan the whole trip for the weeks the hills go gold, while others come for the harbors in high summer. Flying in? We meet you at Bangor International (BGR) or make the longer run to Boston Logan International (BOS), so your first sight of Maine is the coast, not a rental counter.

Sized From a Sedan to a Motorcoach

Once we know how many are coming and what you have in mind, the right vehicle is easy to land on:

  • A couple or a small family after an unhurried coastal drive rides our Cadillac Escalade, a silent cabin behind wide glass where the shoreline does the entertaining and nobody has to watch the road.
  • Got a bigger group, a dozen friends or a milestone worth marking? Our Sprinter Limo seats fourteen with room to face each other and a drink in hand, so the ride between stops is half the fun.
  • For a reunion, a corporate outing, or a tour party as large as fifty-five, our Executive Coach Bus keeps everyone together with tall windows all around, so every seat gets to see the water, and nobody rides facing backward.

Land somewhere between those sizes? The rest of our fleet fills the gaps, whatever the headcount turns out to be.

Cove by Cove on Our Private Maine Guided Tour

Half the pleasure of a place like this is the freedom to take it at your own speed, and that freedom is exactly what a chauffeured tour gets you. However you picture it, coast or city, one lighthouse or six, a slow morning or a full itinerary, our private Maine guided tour bends to fit it.

Tell us roughly which places call to you and your rough dates, and we will map something that makes the most of your hours here. As part of the ASL Group, ASL Limo Maine has been guiding visitors along this coast for more than twelve years. Reach us however works best: phone (207) 579-6600, email info@asllimomaine.com, or the online reservation form.
